Service has become an important factor. Replacement and wear parts, like sets of gears, are often no longer kept in storage, but ordered “just-in-time”. Important here are fast service, so that downtime is minimized. Especially in preparation and shaping, regeneration is an everyday operation, wear materials lengthen the lifetime of the machines, hard facing is applied on screen plates and wearing plates. Pan mill plates, runner rings, extruder heads and screws are regenerated. In addition to new equipment, second hand and used machines, e.g. from mothballed plants, are used.
